Final Journey update Week #9: Double ATK & More!
Hey guys I'm back with a new post.
sorry for the delay yesterday I was busy so I wasn't able to post it on time. Hope you enjoy!
- PROGRAMING
So I did some progress on the double attack feature and I didn't expect it to be a bit complicated, I've been looking around on how to make it work and I found something but its not that practical, having to use ifs and elses for could cause problems in the near future, I'm trying out some other way to make it work, maybe I could use matches or make each button unique, tho I'm still pondering about it, hopefully I'll finish it next week or so tho I might be busy on jams for this week (more on it on the conclusion section).
For other things I was able to add new stuff to the game like right now the enemies roam around freely in the overworld and also following the player when he is detected (Its still not finished yet but you get the idea) I also made it so that the damage is randomized when you attack enemies like for example you inflect between 8-12 damage on enemies when using normal attacks and so on, there is also new effects where the enemy gets attacked. I do wanna do things like npc interaction and effects like poisoning and others.
- ART
I didn't do much with art tho I have started making sprites for the beta dungeon there is a few pictures showing how it looks like, and yeah I don't have anything new in terms of art sadly, the video above talks a bit more about the Mike idle animation and also the whole level designing aspect of the game.
- SOCIAL
I finally finished the video, and well its not as great as I thought it would become but I think its an improvement to the older videos and hopefully this will be a stepping stone in terms of how I make videos I hope you guys will enjoy it!
- CONCLUSION
So yeah I think this week was good for the most part I really liked the new things I added on to the game!
Now I have said above I would be busy this week tho I might try to work on the game a bit but for the most part I have 2 jams this week and each of them I will make a video detailing all the stuff I've worked on, the jams I joined are the GMTK Game Jam 2023 and the the Game Zanga Jam both I will hopefully release games for so wait for the games I'm going to release!
